We’ve seen it before; we’ll see it again.
The Pacers playing with no grind and grit, no emotion and no desire to win.
The scoring was so-so. The Wizards killed us on rebounding, 53-36. Roy hibbert played only 18 minutes and had 0 points and 0 rebounds to go with his two turnovers from Arby’s. We also saw a nearly invisible Luis Scola come out of the shed and do some decent work down low to try and make up for the continuing lack of production from the center position. Scola came away with 12 points and 5 rebounds, which makes for a nicely productive night. Evan Turner came off the bench and did a fairly good job. Turner came a way with 7 points and 2 rebounds in his 19 minutes of play.
The productivity of this Pacers squad is continuing to go down. Too much 1-on-1 play. Not enough ball movement, not enough moving without the ball, poor defense and again, no rebounding.
There are a few somewhat bright spots about this Pacers team. The turnover numbers are starting to come down, they scored 96 points on their home floor, and they got great stats from George Hill. He scored 18 points and had 4 rebounds while only giving away 1 turnover in his 33 minutes of play.
I was very happy, and I think most Pacers fans would be, with how this squad is playing considering the Center position had a combined 2 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist.
They must win Game 2 Wednesday night in Indianapolis. If not, it’s time to grab your bags and get the hell out. Gotta love Slick Leonard.
